How to Join the TikTok Creator Fund & Make Money from TikTok

Calling all creators: TikTok’s launched a monetary program to pay the best and brightest for their viral content, the TikTok Creator Fund.

The program is the platform’s latest foray into social commerce, so if there was ever a time to focus on growing your TikTok community, it’s now.

We’re breaking down how to apply for the TikTok Creator Fund, who’s eligible, and most importantly — how you’ll get paid, so you can start cashing in!

How Does the TikTok Creator Fund Work?

First announced in July 2020, the fund is committed to doling out $1B over the next three years to allow creators to earn a livelihood from the video-sharing app.

Yep, you heard that right!

Creating engaging and meaningful content is officially being rewarded financially on the platform.

It’s simple: the more engagement you receive from a post, the more dollar signs you’ll see in your bank account.

Because let’s face it, creating content takes serious time, commitment, and resources.

And TikTok would not be the platform it is without its slew of talented creators sharing their stories and connecting to audiences worldwide.

You might even recognize the program’s first wave of participants including Cheyenne Jaz Wise, Justice Alexander, and Michael Le — all of whom are getting paid, by TikTok, for their scroll-stopping content.

So whether you’re an educator, dancer, or artist, TikTok is giving creators the opportunity to turn their creativity into a career.

And at the moment, there’s no limit to the number of creators that can join — the more the merrier! Follow the easy steps below to learn how to apply for the TikTok Creator Fund.

Who is Eligible for the TikTok Creator Fund?

Now, in order to be considered eligible for the TikTok Creator Fund, you’ll need to meet a couple of baseline stipulations below:

  • The creator must reside in the U.S., UK, Germany, Italy, France, or Spain.

  • The account is active and complies with TikTok Policies.

  • The account has at least 10K authentic followers.

  • The account has at least 100K authentic total video views in the last 30 days before application to the Program.

  • The creator has at least one valid linked digital payment account (re: PayPal or Zelle) to be used as a payment method through the Program.

How Much Does the TikTok Creator Fund Pay?

So let’s get down to the brass tacks of it all: how exactly will a creator’s funds be allocated and how much does the TikTok creator fund pay?

According to TikTok, funds are based on a variety of factors including, “video views, video engagement, as well as ensuring the videos adhere to the Community Guidelines and Terms of Service.”

Which means the more engaging the piece of content, the more dollar signs will come your accounts way.

And because the Creator Fund “pot” is always fluctuating — based on the way the platform and your videos perform day after day — the dollar amount varies.

“Performance on TikTok is dynamic — it changes naturally — so your funds will ebb and flow in the same way.”

Funds will appear in your creator dashboard three days after your views are accrued. You’ll then be able to withdraw payments up to 30 days after your video was posted.

Since its inception, TikTok’s Creator Fund has opened up a world of possibilities to creators looking to monetize their storytelling.

And as long as you’re producing authentic content that resonates with your community and meets the above criteria — TikTok will have no choice but to accept you into the program.

So what are you waiting for? Apply today and turn your creativity into earnings!
