In this article I will talk about the importance of the internal factors that, in my view, are very important in getting your website highly ranked for targeted keywords. You may have already heard that big G, Yahoo and many other search engines like content rich, high quality websites. By high quality websites I mean quality not only from outside but also from inside. So my main concern will be inside factors.

SEO experts try to influence on both sides of the coin. However, internal factors are the most difficult ones to influence. From external factors point of view, we have learned how to optimize them. There are thousands of paid services that provide you with all sorts of optimization and automated tools.

Internal factors, however, can not be automated. Even if you have a perfect optimization tool or web system, you will still need to do those recommendations manually. Furthermore, there are factors that automatic optimization systems can not optimize at all, because it depends on specific characteristics of what you are trying to promote.

How should we structure our work on internal factors of the website, so called directions? Firstly, content optimization (linguistic approach, keywords stuffing etc.); internal linking (preserving flow of links juice within the website). Utilization of all additional HTML tags such as "alt", "title" "anchor text". Balanced usage of multimedia elements (video, SNS modules, etc.).

To be honest this list could go on and on. The truth is that we do not know search engines' algorithms except people who work there. But we do know and easily can say if a website is complete or lack of something. Incomplete sites do not have a logical start and ending. They are sort of abrupt in the middle of development. A user visiting such websites feel as if they were left hanging on a cliff. Search engines are getting more and more clever, because its people who are behind those machines. So they can easily notice things.

So if your site has one stop information for your users, for example having installation instructions if it's a software, video showing how to install it, testimonials of people who used your product or services etc. Such website is said internally well optimized. So you can see that its not just HTML tags that are important as internal factors but logical completion and most of all user satisfaction.

Current situation is this. You are doing SEO because you want to outrank your competitors. Search engines must provide a useful, high quality resource to its users. If your and competitors websites are almost perfect, the one which has logical completion ie user satisfaction wins the honor to be number one. This factor will stay for a long time and if you stress and focus your time and efforts to that part of optimization, you will get the benefits.

If you are wondering why are not you ranking better than your competitor even though you optimized everything you know, then check what they have on their website that you do not have. I do not mean sophisticated technology. You can achieve the same goal by using different way. What matters is the end result.
